RIFF JTAG - Updates
04.03.2011 Qualcom Generic NAND ESM7xxx DLL released
Resurrector ESM7XXX L41 D04 contains only DCC Loader, thus it is to be used only for operations on DCC Read/Write page in the JTAG Manager.
Embedded DCC Loader is designed to work inside of MCU's internal RAM memory, thus it is not sensitive to external SDRAM configuration or availability or its physical state.
Initial H/W init sequence will setup MCU's PLL0 with these parameters:
* L/M/N = 0x41/0x00/0x01;
* Global Clock Divisor = DIV4
If you don't know what the L, M, N or Global Clock Divisor parameters are, then just keep in mind:
* Highest L values and lowest Global Clock Divisor values will make maximum clocking frequency supplied to the MCU's core and thus DCC Read/Write speed will be maximum fast;
* Too high frequency supplied to the MCU's core may result in core overheating or instable operation;

RIFF JTAG - Updates from Yesterday :D
10.03.2011 HTC Tattoo A3232 (HTC Click 1100) Unlock, Unbrick, IMEI repair, CID Update supported
Resurrecting HTC Click is easy. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC while battery is inside.
There are two different hardware versions exist – one based on the MSM7225 chipset (CLIC10000) and other – on the ESM7225 chipset (CLIC11000). In resurrector settings you can select a desired version.
Resurrector will reflash radio’s boot zone and will re-write PDA’s SPL to 0.52.0001 SPL version.
As well, you can change CID – for this make sure ‘Repair Custom ID’ field is checked in the Resurrection Guide dialog.
To resurrect HTC Click:
* Solder JTAG cable to HTC Click JTAG pads;
* Make sure HTC Click is selected in the list of models;
* Click Resurrect button;
* Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
* Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;
Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.
To Unlock HTC Click :
* Solder JTAG cable to HTC Click JTAG pads;
* Make sure HTC Click is selected in the list of models;
* Click Resurrect button;
* Select “Unlock Settings” TAB
* Select Unlock method
* Click “Unlock”
10.03.2011 HTC Desire DLL Update – Unlock Code reading supported
New HTC Desire DLL has additional option to select between reading NCK Code, or direct unlock.
This should also solve “error 0×45″ problem with some of the HW revisions.
10.03.2011 ASUS P526 Unbrick, Dead Boot repair supported
Resurrection of ASUS P526 is slightly complicated. JTAG pads are very small and sensitive thus extreme care must be taken when soldering wires to the board. Battery must be connected in order to establish JTAG connection.
Current resurrector re-flashes only the IPL area, and will not re-write MDOC XLOADER area (though write of this area is supported too).
Please note: DiskOnChip G4 memory has security features, due to which there is a risk of permanently blocking the access to the flash memory while re-flashing the XLOADER areas. Current resurrector will not touch the XLOADER zone, but it is possible you’re already holding such killed device in hands. If it is so you will see this error:
************************************************** **************
Detected a Not Initialized FLASH1 Chip ID: 0×0400/0xFBFF
ERROR: Selected FLASH Chip was not initialized by the DCC Loader
************************************************** **************
This can happen due to unknown protection keys used or due to permanently blocked MDOC chip. If latter is true we advise you to solder a new flash memory chip or throw this phone away to the trash bin.
To resurrect ASUS P526:
* Solder JTAG cable to ASUS P526 JTAG pads;
* Insert battery and connect USB cable to phone and PC;
* Make sure ASUS P526 is selected in the list of models;
* Click Resurrect button;
* Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
* Disconnect USB cable, de-solder JTAG wires;
Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.
If phone not enters download mode after resurrection then it means XLOADER was damaged too but memory chip is still usable. In this case repeat resurrection using RAM Downloader Mode and when USB connection is established reflash the phone with official firmware.
To enter download mode:
* Disconnect PC cable;
* Insert battery;
* Move ‘Lock’ slider down, hold ‘OK’ key (on the left) and press ‘Power ON’ button. In few seconds you should see TriColor picture.
Additional info:
* Phone has DiskOnChip G4 memory type, which has security features. It has two password protected partitions (Password1 = 12345678, Password2 = 00000000);
* XLOADER re-flash is not performed in this resurrector on purpose. While re-flashing the XLOADER area there is a risk of permanently blocking the memory chip.
* Any write access (Erase or Write) on MDOC NAND memory range 0×00000000 to 0x0017FFFF is rejected by the DCC Loader
10.03.2011 CDMA ZTE F285 Repair supported
Resurrecting ZTE F285 is simple. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC. Battery presence is not required; connection can be established with detached board. Resurrector re-flashes only firmware zone of the phone (0×000000 to 0x60FFFF).
To resurrect ZTE F285:
* Solder JTAG cable to ZTE F285 JTAG pads;
* Insert USB Data cable into board and PC;
* Make sure ZTE F285 is selected in the list of models;
* Click Resurrect button;
* Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
* De-solder JTAG wires;

* Fixed initialization bug for NOR-related DCC Loadererss
* ScriptEngine: added options pocessing ‘/byte’, ‘/word’, ‘/long’ to data.save.binary instruction: thus it’s possible now to read memory through script using desired bus access width (8-,16-, or 32-bit widths). For example: “data.save.binary c:\myfile.bin 0×00..0x11FF /word” – will read 0×1200 bytes from memory into myfile.bin file starting from address 0×00 using 16-bit bus accesses.
Note: “Read Memory” button on the JTAG Read/Write page reads memory using 32-bit bus accesses only.
RIFF Box Firmware v1.19

31.03.2011 RIFF Data Exchange Plugin 1.00 released
First release of the RIFF Data Exchange Plugin: please download it, and then select it on Usefull Plugins page in the JTAG Manager to read short description about the plugin’s abilities. In short it allows RIFF BOX users to share and use Full Image files in centralized manner without need to waste a lot of time for browsing countless forums.
Because of big sizes of Full Image files, we don’t host them, instead users share links to file sharing servers where the files are actually uploaded. (like megaupload.com, rapidshare.com and others) You can browse existent links for required image file or share your image file (by sharing a http link) to help other RIFF BOX users.
If you share image file please take attention to carefully fill file details so for other people this to be an easy task to search for required file (link)
If you used link to download file and found it good or bad or link to be broken – please Rate this link so other users see the usability of the link.
At the moment of first release of this plugin there are already few links shared so you’ll catch the idea fast.
Please click “Check For Updates” button in order to download and apply new files. Closing all running application before starting update process is recommended.

RIFF JTAG – HTC Desire HD A9191 (HTC Ace) Unbrick, IMEI, CID, ModelID, Simlock repair
WHATS NEW!!!
- HTC Desire HD A9191 (HTC Ace) = Unbrick, IMEI, CID, ModelID, Simlock repair = WORLD FIRST ! ! !
RIFF JTAG - HTC Desire HD Discussion (Repair, Unlock, IMEI Repair)
Firmware 1.25
---------------------------
- added 5.0V USB Power On/Off controlling feature
- changed sequence for 32-bit write accesses for ARM11 core (MSM8xxx support)
JTAG Manager 1.33
---------------------------
- Improved connection policy:
Resurrection/DCC connection to device is implemented in such way that JTAG speed changes have 2 stages - booting stage and working stage.
Booting stage is the one from the connection start and until the DCC Loader upload is complete. Booting TCK/RTCK speed are setup
by JTAG Manager no matter what are the TCK settings by user (JTAG TCK Speed field in the JTAG Manager). Booting speed is hardcoded in the DLL.
After "booting" stage is complete, the "working" speed is set - the one which is selected by user in the JTAG TCK Speed field.
If Booting Speed in resurrector DLL is hardcoded as 'RTCK' the JTAG Manager would always use RTCK mode during booting stage.
Now policy is changed that is when user selects a fixed TCK frequency the JTAG Manager will automatically
change booting speed to the fixed TCK too.
- fixed bug: if "Use End Address" and "AutoFull Flash Size" were checked there was error setting valid length to read.
- for Advanced Users: advanced settings are now moved from the DCC Read/Write page ("Notifications...") into separate button on Box Service page (Advanced Settings button)
- added 5.0V USB Power On/Off controlling feature
For this go to Box Service page, click Advanced Settings: the Notifications dialog will be displayed,
go to "Advanced Settings" page and set desired mode for "Enable 5.0V output" checkbox.
When enabled, 5.0V power will be on after any "JTAG" operation executed and will remain "ON" until
box restart or until "Enable 5.0V output" checkbox is unchecked and any "JTAG" operation is executed.
- added optimization for flashing memory devices which are sector-based (like MDOC H3 or MMC/SD memory cards)
- if error code 0x3C (write-protect) is received no recover attempts are made.

29.07.2011 Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II Unbrick – Boot repair supported, World First
Samsung I9100 is based on the S5PV310 (Exynos 4210) Processor (Cortex-A9 Dual-Core).
JTAG pads are very small; professional experience in soldering is required to connect wires to the JTAG interface. There is a big variety of versions of Galaxy II devices: GT-I9100, GT-I9100G, GT-I9100L, GT-I9100M, GT-I9100T, GT-I9101, GT-I9103, GT-I9108, GT-I9188, and maybe more. Some of them are based on different hardware platform – the OMAP4430 (Cortex-A9 Dual-Core). Thus make sure first which exact hardware version you have on hands.
Note, one simple way to connect over JTAG – connect USB cable to PC and insert battery. In this case phone is automatically powered on.
Phone has such booting sequence: ROM → FBL → IBL → PBL → SBL. Current resurrector will resurrect Partition Table (PIT) and SBL zones which are located in the iNAND (eMMC) memory. Write access to memory which contains FBL, IBL and PBL loaders is not supported currently, but in case your phone has these loaders damaged, you can choose “Initiate Download Mode” way of resurrection in order to directly put the phone into the Download Mode.
To resurrect Samsung I9100:
Solder JTAG cable to Samsung I9100 JTAG pads;

Samsung M180S is based on the S5PCxxx Processor (ARM core is Cortex-A8).

Solder JTAG cable to Samsung M180S JTAG pads;
Connect USB cable to phone and PC;
Attach battery connector;
Make sure Samsung M180S is selected in the list of models;

RIFF JTAG - JTAG Manager v1.35 released
04.08.2011 JTAG Manager v1.35 released
Whats new :
- Added an arbitrary feature “Settings by Code” to the DCC Read/Write page.
Main purpose is to improve support quality for users: via “Settings Code” string a supporter person sees all settings which were set by user on the DCC Read/Write page.
Though, end-user may benefit from this too: Use “Settings Code” string for JTAG Manager to automatically setup all DCC Read/Write settings
- Fixed data loss during read and save operations in case there is not enough disk space available to store required amount of data.
(for example reading full on DCC Read/Write page, or saving read full, etc).
Now available disk space checks are performed prior disk write operations.
Please click “Check For Updates” button in order to download and apply new files. Closing all running application before starting update process is recommended.
